I love the dragonfly fabric Stitches, and the pink, the red is lovely too.  ;)

Look forward to seeing what you make with them.

I reckon you should send me the pink rose fabric if you're not sure what to do with it. I promise to love it. ;)

I bought 3 metres of black broderie anglaise . Plan to make a shirt dress.

Remember I emptied Craftsy...? No? Well anyway it's here.
I didn't order as much as I thought (must have reined it in at the last minute), but I have 20 FQs and three metres cut length of a gorgeous inky navy with hints of purply and green....sounds revolting but it isn't.
Spray starch, glue pens, bag holder upper stuff....
WooHoo!

I went fabric shopping with several students to the Hawker's Bazaar today (definitely a dream job, I get paid to go fabric shopping ) and ended up buying 4 fabrics for myself.
- black and white floral print cotton sateen, £ 2.50 per yard
- black and white abstract cotton canvas, £ 2.50 per yard
- off white guipure lace (it's fairly open I want to underline it with bleached laser cut eyelet denim) £ 4.- per yard
- off white shirt weight embossed cotton lawn, £ 2.- per yard

The market is like a tent city under a large tin roof, at 35 degrees Celsius, it felt like being in a sauna....

Will post pictures of my new treasures once all is washed and dry  :D

Crikey Manuela no wonder you churn dresses out at such a rate at those prices.  :)

Someone stop me I keep taking short breaks from marking and indulging myself with online shopping!  I'll have spent all my exam fees at this rate!

But we need "little" treats to keep us going when doing boring tasks like marking. For me it's either cake or fabric, preferably both.  :D

Well, on Monday I went to Abakhan in Birkenhead and Calico Laine in Liscard, and then on Tuesday I went to Abakhan in Chester.  On Tuesday evening I shopped online at Abakhan and myfabrics.co.uk.

No photos, because half is in the washing machine, the other half not yet unpacked and the third half (whoops!) is in the post, but I got:
  • 2.5m of blue linen (for £4.something!) - trousers.
  • 2.5m grey textured polycotton (£6ish) - part for a StyleArc Annika.
  • 1.5m dark green jersey (£2ish) - for part of a StyleArc Annika (but not the same one!)
  • 3m of cotton poplin (£7ish) that looks very much like Liberty, although it isn't - probably a blouse.  I didn't need that much, but it was sooo cheap.
  • 3m of a very soft self-striped white cotton (£4ish) - no idea, I just liked it.
  • 2m of bright pink fine satin for the lining of a jacket (£5ish)
  • 2m stretch denim (£16) - trousers.
  • 2m 280cm wide quilting cotton, cream with a small print (£13).
  • 2m green stretch cotton twill (£5) - trousers.
  • 2m striped shirting fabric for £6ish) - don't know - it would make a great shirt for Mr Acorn.  Or me.

All the prices are totals!

I think I'd better get sewing now...

I am!

Ooh - I forgot one.  I also have 2.8m of black and blue check shirting-weight cotton.  No idea what to do with it, but it's just washed and ironed beautifully.   :D
