Thanks Tamnymore  <3 Didn't see your valuable post until this afternoon.  I am looking forward to visiting that  place asap.   Hope you enjoyed your evening and had plenty of tea to refresh you.  You are a star  :flower:

It's been  a sunny and very hot day here ...
:'( It's been foggy and hot here - horrible! I've been househunting with my parents and I think that it might have been quite a different experience if the sea views hadn't been invisible!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Cut the grass till the gravy ran out of me (I think I may have been beginning to render at one point!!!!")
Posted my first coupla posts on here and quickly realised the inadequacy of my sewing "skills".
Demented Fairy, did you make a toile for that top? It sounds like it might fit me.  =8  :o

It has been hot, my work uniform was hot, the babies were hot and bothered and it felt like a very long shift! It has definitely been a salad day as I refused to turn the cooker on  0_0

2 toiles.  One just draping from two rectangles, then after lots of tucks, tweaks, silent staring, and many, many pins, I cut it apart, smooshed it, and recut.
Assembled it, repinned, and then some more pinning tweaking, puzzled staring, and eventual decision that it was good enough.

I don't think there is any way at all to doa  perfect job on such large bazoomers, and very asymmetrical shoulders.  I had to keep schtum too apart from discussion of asymmetry, because I have no idea if she's even aware of how wonky or twisted her torso actually is.  She's never implied such, but I suppose the giant norgs distract from whatever else is going on.
It's to be her wedding outfit, so I wanted to keep her mood positive, which seemed to pay off.  She was happily standing smoothing her hips in front of the mirror by the time we stopped [I recognise this as a very good sign!]

I'll be blogging it all eventually, but she wants it kept pretty quiet until then.  I may post the odd teaser here though, as I don't know anyone involved in the wedding who may be a member...we'll see.

For now, it's inspired by both 1970s boho looks, medieval gowns, and Indian Anarkali.  The colours are a fabulously rich selection of purples and turquoise, including a vintage sari and some amazing 'tie dyed' paper taffeta in silk.

Watch me now...

Giant kn**kers are a da**ed nuisance. If I wear snug things I look like a porn star or a silly old tart (or both) and hanging things that go striaight down from the frontest part make me resemble a Dalek.
I choose tart!  :P
Thankfully I don't have the twisted bit but because I have such narrow shoulders the slightest  "asymmetry" (you're so diplomatic) stands out like a sore thumb!
I'm hoping to learn stuff and maybe even manage to make something that actually fits. HA! That'll be the day.

Tarts and daleks? Sound like an idea for a theme party!  ;)
