Since being presented with my first grandchild I've made a few bits for her. Butterick 3405 using turquoise Rose & Hubble flamingos:

Followed by a top to go with jeans - babies have jeans nowadays! This was made with leftovers from a blouse for me, giraffe fabric from Fabricland.

What a gorgeous set you've made there for a very lucky baby  :)  :vintage:

Thanks Lilian! Then there was a sun hat, I made the pattern by guesstimating and used up scraps. This is reversible.

Pride before a fall, the next hat, also reversible, also using up scraps, looked great until we put it on the baby. Oh dear, it was like a Sorting Hat! Binned that.

On a roll, what a good way to use up those bits too big to throw, that have been lurking for ages. Cleverly, this coordinates with one of the hats.

That hat is so beautiful!   Great job  :toast:  :vintage:

I've never had a baby to make clothes for, I would have loved to do that. :)

Yesterday I found some lovely cotton with elephant print. Fabricland, they have several colourways. I bought 2m so I can get a top for me as well. All the best dressed babies coordinate with their grannies, right?

I've just cut out a long romper in teal green. The reverse of the flamingo hat will coordinate with this. Pix tomorrow when I've made it.

Thanks Emma and Lilian. I have been having a sewing binge! I'm not usually this prolific but the baby things are very quick to make. (Except when I decide to embroider hearts onto white fabric before making up the hat brim, but even that took longer to mark up than to stitch).
