Thanks everyone, I'll soldier on. This is the first quilt I've made for someone else other than family and I am really battling with stage fright! Hmmmmmm, got some green somewhere....I'll have a look after breakfast.

Nothing wrong with that! The floral looks great as well. A narrow green frame would look good too in addition to what you've already got there.

So I've decided to stay with just the red border...about 1.5" and ditch the floral. I've also narrowed the 2 outer cream columns down to 1.5 "...looks much better balanced. Happy with that.  :) Still thinking about green.

Thanks Lowie, the green is exactly what was needed to contrast out all the pink and plain-ness of it and I'm finally very happy with it.  I just finished basting it today and hope to start quilting in a couple of days once I've gotten familiar with the new machine.

Why g...n? Lawns and trees and leaves for a start!

Green was my choice too and it looks great - just adds a bit of oomph!
