I've got the backing fabric and it's all ready now for the scary part; quilting it.
Ideally I'd like to do FMQ squiggles over the light parts and something else over the dark parts. A suggestion from the book is parallel diagonal lines, but, the no-sashing QAYG method means only quilting to about an inch or so from the joins and then quilting over the joins when quilting the next strip. In four places the dark abuts the light right on the joins so that is out.
I'm thinking now that it will be vermicelli squiggles all over.
So, maybe use two different colours, variegated blue over the lights and cream over the darks? or the other way around? I've got both colours of thread.
