I'm making this topic to track my attempts at making B6244, view A

I found some cheap but very nice looking coat fabric (probably poly). The only problems with it are that it doesn't hold a crease well and that it's rather bulky.
It requires seams to be flat felled, so I've practiced on a few scraps and I'm happy to say I feel confident.
What I did was use some wonder tape (double sticky tape that dissolves when washing) to help me with the folding, and after that it was smooth sailing.
Since it does not have a facing, it requires a narrow hem. Which is fun to do with a bulky fabric that doesn't hold a crease :) So I've used wonder tape some more and made mitered corners, because there was no way I could fold so many layers neatly (and trust me, I gave it a fair shot!).
Today I plan on tracing and cutting the pattern, and maybe do some sewing. We'll see what time I have left.
Wish me luck!

The test pieces are looking very good.   :D  Lovely pattern too.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Look forward to seeing this.  Wonder tape is one of my fave things!

So I went ahead and cut and sewed collar, shoulders and side seams. Went pretty great with the help of wonder tape.
Today I've sewn a sleeve. It turned out pretty well, but I feel dead tired after I finished!
No way in hell I was doing a flat felled seam, so I just serged and pressed towards sleeve.
I will probably skip the narrow hem on the sleeve and just use my coverstitch machine, I don't really feel like it's going to make a difference anyway.

Nicely set in sleeve.

Thank you! I am quite proud, if I can say so myself  :D
I'm between 3 sizes (12 for the bust, 10 at the waist and 8 at the hips), and after thinking for a bit I cut a size 8 all around. I still find it too loose, probably because the fabric is rather stiff. Might have to make something to tie it, I wonder if it will stay in place without belt loops.
Was planning on finishing the other sleeve today, but am feeling a little under the weather and I've spent most of the day in bed.

Both sleeves went in, the second one much easier than the first. Looks good!
The only thing that bothers me is that it's a bit too oversized for my taste. But lucky for me, oversized is very fashionable these days  0_0
Still have to hem it, but that's a job for another day.

That looks great - it looks oversized and not as though it's too big for you.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

It looks fine to me too, Jo.  Perhaps you can get a better picture when you finish it.

Fajita, can't wait to see your take on it! It's a rather easy  make. I plan on doing another  using some ponte. But first, I'm gonna take out some of that extra ease.

Did part of the hem today. Man, it ate up two years of my life! Until I found a good method: wonder tape, fold once, baste, fold again, baste and then topstitch from the right side, them remove basting stitches. For folding I use a seam gauge and fold about 5 cm in front of the presser foot, sew, then repeat.
Lots of work, but it does look great.

How much fabric did it take? (Just in case I see fabric before my pattern arrives).
