My 2pennoth...
B&M have fleece throws at 2 for a fiver.
Don't use polycotton as it's more difficult to work with.
Start with squares and rectangles.
Make sure your seam allowance is the same throughout ( even if not exactly 1/4" )
Don't stress yourself
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy

I agree with Low,  ...

1/4" is the standard for P&Q probably because most of the more traditional piecing was quite small so required less bulk in the seam allowances, but there is no reason why your SA shouldn't be the width of your foot ... just make sure that all of the SA's are consistent.

and most of all ..... enjoy!

Thank you  :)

I realise I have a copy of "Fabulous Fat Quarter Bags" by Susan Briscoe on my shelf, and I have made one bag from it as a gift a few years ago. So maybe I'll be doing a couple for xmas presents to get me started before tackling something big and flat! I did love the link to the shibori quilt, and I do have some cotton sheeting for the dye parts - hmmm!

And does anyone know  Midsomer Quilting - just "down the road " from me and said to be really super. They are moving premises this week - opening Friday  :)

I might even take a trip out there myself this Friday! I need some Silver Fairy Frost , Magenta Fossil Fern and Lime Green Ice from Fabric Freedoms Fire and Ice range.

hahahahaaahhhaha... No, Sorry ...

the Fairy Frost is for Octobers BOM ... (which is really something lovely for 3 months time), the Lime is for the Jan Hassard project and the Fossil Fern is for a project for next year.
