Machine Rescued

Today, whilst at the recycling centre I spotted a sewing machine. I was horrified that a machine would just be dumped, and just had to liberate it. All we saw was a huge plastic case, so did not have a clue what was inside. Well when I got home I opened the case to find this beauty. Fully working condition, not a bit of fluff in sight. Plugged it in and it runs beautifully. I have not threaded it up yet to see if it sees but I am confident that I will get it sewing.

Wow!  it looks so clean!  Most machines that are discarded look a lot more sorry for themselves.
Enjoy your find.

Stunning find!  It looks as though it has hardly been used.

It does look as though it has hardly been used, but also looks like it has been looked after.  Why someone would just dump a machine I do not know.

Is someone doing a house clearance and doesn't realise what a lovely machine it is?

That's my feeling - someone has been clearing a parent or grandparent's house and just saw an old sewing machine - not a fancy modern one, and not an antique-looking one with black and gold paint - and assumed it was of no value. :(   I'm very, very glad you intercepted it, although I daresay it would have been picked out by the people running the recycling centre before it was destroyed.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Ohhh, how lovely! It's very like the Jones I learned to sew on at my mother's knee :D

Very nice machine and presser foot pressure adjustment too!  :D
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.
