It's a different set of skills.  Not necessarily easier, or harder.
Brenda.  My machines are: Caroline a Singer 201K-3 born 1940, Thirza a Featherweight 221K born 1949, Azilia a Singer 201K born 1957 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

I've faffed around with it for a couple of days now and my machine just won't do it. The best I can get is the bottom thread only just showing through, not making a full size stitch and it looks awful. My instruction book said to alter the balance as well as the tension if necessary, and it still didn't do it properly. On the plus side, I rarely have to change the tension to get a good stitch on normal sewing or quilting, so I'll just stick to that!
