Silk Ties

I've been given a stash of silk ties.

I've deconstructed them.

So now I have some silk material.

First thought was to do them in a tie shaped circular/spoke pattern, but I'm not keen. I think I might have decided to use them as 'material', rather than 'ties'. So now Looking for a project.

There are some lovely colours amongst them, Fajita.

Love the fit and flare little dress in shades of dark blue on the link UR put up.

Wow yes you can do a lot with these! I've never deconstructed silk ties but I have come across a fair bit of silk twill clearly intended for ties at the Adamley silk mill sale which they hold near Macclesfield once a year. I have a plan to make some sort of technicolour dream coat with the pieces. Perhaps you could do the same, Fajita!

I too have a collection of silk ties. Unfortunately they're still residing in DH's wardrobe. :S He never uses them - perhaps he wouldn't notice if they went missing.

Good plan, Kenora. He might not notice if they went missing, however he might notice if you started wearing them!

I couldn't resist and this called to mind a discussion on modifying straight jeans when the bell bottom trend arrived in the 70's.
