I made a feather

I was going to sort my cupboard, but found this download from a magazine, so thought I'd do this instead. I've only made one feather, but have cut out the bits for more. Not sure when I'll get time to make them, probably next weekend now.

Lovely, and very effective - what are you thinking of making with them?

I'll probably make a pile of feathers in a cupboard, lol.
Chances are they might one day make a quilt, but no specific plans.

That's a link to the instructions I used, but I'm thinking maybe that foundation paper piecing might be less wasteful of fabric.

Snap!!!

I cheated though and used an insipid stripey fabric that worked rather well ...

I used the same pattern and thought it would make a rather lovely cot quilt/ childs quilt.

I made five and then the fabric ran out !  :S

This is just sooooo gorgeous! I love it. Would make a lovely quilt of alternating feathers in rows :)

WOW - that looks deceptively simple but is an awful lot of work. Beautiful though.  :) (Your  idea of using stripey fabric for the feather is a good one - one which I might steal  ;) for the future.)

According to the craftsy blog, one of the trends at the quilting show in Houston atm is feathers.  You obviously have your finger on the pulse, Fajita.   :D

Sounds like my kind of patchwork.

Lovely feathers.
