Regarding the question about the Bernina 570 and whether it is the old style or the much newer machine. It is the newer machine. Not sure when Bernina started using the sensors, but I have a Bernina Artista 200, and mine was a part exchange model when the new huge Bernina 830 machine came out, so a few years old.
If you go looking for the actual Bernina website on the internet, on the opening page it shows a group of feet, and on one of them there in the middle is a foot that has this block bit on the side and this one has two globes – sensors in it. My machine has a mixture of these smaller two sensor feet and the feet with the square that can have more sensors in. I hope this makes sense.
