Sewing machine servicing

 Can anyone help me please?
I have a Brother innovis 1250 Sewing/embroidery machine, 2 years old still within 3 year warranty. It’s still performing well but I don’t know when it should be serviced. My old 30 year old F&R was never serviced until recently :| and the engineer said it was in good condition, just a bit dry.
Any recommendations for service engineers? Phoned shop in Lewisham SE London who quoted me £130 which I guess is going to be going rate.

Every two to three years is a good idea for servicing.  Sorry I can't help with ideas for where you are but I think £130 is a bit steep.  Check what a service means for the price too.

World of Sewing do servicing, they have workshops in their shops at Tunbridge Wells, Pratt’s Bottom and Croydon. Just give them a ring for a price.  http://shop.worldofsewing.com/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=23

My mechanic told me they should be serviced once a year wether they've been used or not, he charges me about £40 unless they need new parts.
