Howdy-do!

Sending greetings from the far side of the Atlantic out of the centre of the near-side Welsh coast!  My favourite things to sew are big with great swathes of fabric (looking at you, dresses of mine) with a healthy side of embroidery and hand-stitching detailwork following an appetiser of let's-draft-a-pattern-all-from-scratch because I like to do things the hard way. ><

I've been making clothing since I was eleven but lately I've been stuck machineless so I've stayed entrenched deep in the waters of the bays of napkins, knitting, and crochet.  Janomes are my game through and through.  Nice to greet you all!

A place I know!  How unexpected.  That's great!  Nice to meet you.

Hello!  I'm also not far from you.   0_0
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Thank you - it's a fantastic position (if you like that sort of thing, which I do!)

Welcome / croeso from me too.  I haven't made the trip over the mountains to Aber for a while but daresay I will again before too long.
Life's too short for ironing.

Hi there - I'm on the north Cornish coast so if I started swimming around the coastline in a clockwise direction I'd bump into you, I'm sure. :) Don't you just love it when the Atlantic dumps all its weather on us before anyone else gets a look in.  :S

Welcome.
I think we need pics of your creations.

Those of us on the east coast thank you for taking the weather on our behalf.
Of course being north east means we get the cold that the south escapes.

... lately I've been stuck machineless ...

Craft*, alongside the railway station, often have cheap secondhand sewing machines, although you're unlikely to get a Janome!

*For those who may get excited, Craft is sadly not what it sounds like, but is an excellent secondhand charity.

I did run away from your cold, O Great White North.  But I'm not sure how well that worked when faced with the Atlantic dumps!  At least the view usually makes up for it (although I shall long live with envy at those who don't get pummelled into the buildings turning the corner to come in their door!)

Craft is indeed a wonderful place.  I almost bought an old Singer there a while ago.  Alas!  For it be that Janome hath bewitched my soul, with its gifts of 'speed control' and button 'stop/start'.  But I daresay there may be hope for my machine future yet.  Christmas is coming, after all  ;)

Hello and welcome from me too. I'm on the Wirral so we are sheltered by the Welsh hills and seem to have our own micri-climate. Enjoy the forum.
