Queen Anne cabinet loads of accessories; looks in nice nick and its a direct drive 201k2 which are lovely machines, may need a rewire, as it has what looks like an extra capacitor stuck on the back.

That is a beauty  :vintage:
That box thing on the rearside is odd though... why would anyone do that? What would its function be??
Is it a suppressor to stop radio interference perhaps?

I am so emvious on people in the UK, it's even bargain price! The 201K2 had slighly different wiring because of the internal wiring to the light and the switch under the plug. I'm not sure what the square box in the back is though.

I wish you wouldn't do this  ;). It's only about 20 miles away from me and I was blissfully unaware - now I keep looking. I really don't have room with a house refurb and decorating and chaos upstairs and down. Hope someone who appreciates these machines and the cabinet sees this and snaps it up

The cabinet is teeny tiny really, and it's so pretty you almost wouldn't know a sewing machine was inside it...

arrow - do Singer motors have a suppressor? I know the vintage Bernina motors were all fitted with one.

I have seen them on several Singers, and I assume many have had them. My 99K from 1934 had two cylinder shaped condensers (supressors?) just above the plug under the hand wheel. They were just a bit larger than AA batteries, with a wire out each end. I have seen this type on most pre 1950s machines. Later models tend to have small plastic square near the motor or in the pedal. I am totally envious to the person who ends up with this machine.
