I have a thing about Bernina old style feet and have been amassing quite a collection over the years.
I saw a quarter inch patchwork foot on ebay - foot 37 - for under twenty quid so I decided to treat myself.
I sent it back for a refund because the quality was dreadful unfortunately.
It had a hinged base which hinged only very very slightly, the cast surface was rough in places and there were manufacturing globs of metal on it, the shank was not perpendicular to the foot - when stood on its base it leaned slightly to one side - and the 1/4" markings on one side of the base were not actually 1/4"; one was slightly less than 1/4" and another slightly more. And where the number was on the front of the shank, the white part, was
white paper glued on...
I feel a tad uncomfortable leaving such negative comments but the foot really was pants. Perhaps I just got a particularly poor quality one, and the dozens of others the seller has sold have been ok.
I thought I would mention my experience here as a cautionary tale nevertheless.
