Then I had a go at FMQ for the first time I drew a pattern using a roll of parcel tape to get the circles and worked more triangles around Imi's scraps of oakshott fabrics which I appliqued for the leaves (which measure 2"across the base and are 1" tall.). the background  fabric is shot silk dupion

This is the final picture ... I laid out all the red and Black scraps on a piece of curtain interlining and pinned into place I then appliqued the edges which were overlapped slightly the finished piece measures 12.5" x 21"and I shall cover a sketchbook with it probably

Imi has sent more  scrap supplies but I'm not allowed to play until I've made some blinds.... I had attacked the last batch of bits last week and am currently sewing up and embroidering eyes and noses

Those fabrics were from a Moda charm pack called Flying Colours!

I used it for the Cot quilt I donated to the Chettle Fetes tombola this July ...

Not usually one for using prepared packs but this was for a secret workshop, a sneaky day off school (teachers need training YAY!!)
