Where can you buy fabric to make panties/knickers, as well as the fancy elastic you use for the waistband and around the legs? Often when I feel like sewing something quick and easy I sew these. :)

I could have sworn someone posted a resource but I'm darned if I can find it.

The Sewing Chest probably has the most choice.

I'm pretty sure I posted a list of bra making supplies right at teh beginning of TSP; I'll have a look for it.

Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

Yep, it's at http://thesewingplace.org.uk/index.php/topic,140.0.html

Bra making materials are a bit more specialised than for knickers, all you really need is tricot or other fabric with a bit of stretch to it for the back, same fabric or matching/contrasting lace for the front, soft elastic and a bit of cotton jersey for the crotch

Thanks so much, Brenda. I am on my iPad but I probably need to view their website on the computer. I see tricot which is lovely and also some pretty elastics. I can't see any fine single cotton jersey. I haven't seen it in fabric stores either, although I haven't asked.

Thanks, Brenda. I'll look at the link. I haven't tried bras but might do that at some point. I must admit they intimidate me.

Thank you very much, Brenda. I switched to the computer and have been hunting for just that. :)
