Help needed with childs unitard
« on: January 11, 2018, 18:18:02 PM »
The Diva has requested this for her next dance competition. Can anyone suggest a site were I can get a PDF pattern, preferably free as she is only likely to wear it once.
And I am struggling to find any cat print lycra, again any ideas.
I am also thinking, buy a black unitard and crop top/swimming costume and customise. Your thought will be very gratefully received.
Sorry forgot to mention she is only 7
It's not easy being this perfekt

Personally, I'd buy a unitard and take it from there, but then I'm no expert on this type of clothing!

PS  Is it just me, or does her sticky out leg not meet her other leg in the right place???  It looks like her crotch is way over to one side  :S

It's without legs, but those are easier to add I think. They might have a female version. The best thing is, you fill in the measurements for her and then you get it adjusted to that.
Good luck!

You will need a unitard pattern if you want it to have legs. For example https://jalie.com/jalie3672-celeste-open-back-unitard, from Jalie, and re-draft the bodice to make the curve.  I don't know if there are free patterns on the internet though.
For the fabric try Funki Fabrics, they do animal/leopard print Lycra. There is one long leg and one short leg, with the net skirt stitched on the hip line.
