I usually run it through a starch bath before I cut it out, but I know what you mean.
You're right I should have, duh! I used some spray starch for the darts and that worked.
I have several lengths of soft viscose and having sewn it once, never want to do it again.
I have a yard or so left of this so will get it starched up ready for next time, I don't like to waste it but will not be buying any more :-(

If you haven't got much grip would very thin latex or nitrile gloves (like surgeons gloves) help for that bit.
I must be too stressed, of course, gloves would be very useful, and I have some in the cupboard. Never gave it a thought. Thanks for that!
I have taken a break, had a chat with a friend, who helped me to calm down and now I have managed to tack the sleeves in place ready for the machine. I will definitely wear a latex glove on one hand for the machining
