I've actually made this quilt, years ago before I knew any better  :D

We were holidaying in British Columbia, Canada in 2005 and I bought the pattern from a beautiful quilt shop somewhere on the road from Calgary to Banff. They were also selling a fabric pack which made that part of the task painless. I didn't realise until we got home that detailed instructions weren't included, but in my ignorance ( I'd only been quilting about 12 months ), I just waded right in  :|
As I remember, I traced it onto 'stitch and tear' and did FPP for the 'swoopy' bits. The quilting motif in the swooping geese was specified in the instructions and became my introduction to FMQ.
After all that work, we didn't really like the resulting wall hanging so it went to the charity shop.

I've been playing around with the colours (electronically, not pencils and paper) and with a simplified colour scheme the design is growing on me.

There are some Oakshott samples and FQs in my stash that I might need to find this evening (just to check sizes seeing as I've not accepted the challenge ... yet).

Somewhere there is a photo, of the 'old fashioned' variety, if I can find it I'll scan it in and post it.

At the time, I wasn't worried about making it, guess that it's like sewing knits as a dressmaker- if nobody tells you that it's difficult you just get on with it.
I think that the fabric choices are the first challenge and as I said, I bought a readymade fabric pack, so making the whole process less stressful :D

I picked the pattern up from the printer today .....

(The mouse is included in the pic to show the sheer scale of the thing!)

OMG!!!!

Still its very comprehensive and together with the online masterclass ... Who Knows?!

I agree that having the pack would be a bonus, but I have tons of fabric and I believe there are things out there called Emporia ??!!

Well, it looks like I’m accepting this challenge. I need a project for my days at Leeds MQG and this might be it.

I need to scale the pattern so that I can use charm squares for the geese and I’m not sure what colours to use for the “spikes” but @Iminei said it was a challenge for the year so there’s plenty of time to make up my mind.

Look what I found on my grand jolly to Midsommer Quilting yesterday

and a metre of each fell into my arms and begged me to take them home!!!!!

I was thinking I could use them for the geese, along with some batiks for the coloured geese backgrounds ?!

WOW indeed.
Trouble is having spotted it you have to be able to think of something to do with it.

Of course, Imi did at once.
