Great tutorial - very timely for Wednesday! And an extra bonus of joining the wadding. I often do this and it works really well.

Be Aware!!!!

With all those layers of fabric building up at the two points (2,3,4,6,7 and 8,9,11,12,13,14) it can get quite bulky.

I found the best way to deal with this  is by sewing toward the point (rather than from) and sewing slowly when you get to it ...
Using a very hot iron to ensure a super flat seam and all will be ok!

Got it done yesterday evening.

It gave me the chance to play around and try to get used to my friends machine which I've borrowed while my own is being fixed.

Thought I'd try something different to pinks and reds and found I had a good selection of blacks...perfect for Valentine's Day  0_0

Yes. It was a bit bumpy over the intersection points, but I managed O.K without any problems. I just went slowly and carefully  :)

Daughter said...'Pillow!'...when she saw it. (She means cushion.)...so I might finish it for her.

I might even have a small cushion pad lying around somewhere to use in it.

Oh that's beautiful, Sandra - really striking. It's crying out to be a cushion. Lucky daughter.  :D

I've just uploaded my pictures from my camera so I can show you that I did indeed make a cushion for my daughter.  :)

Finished the back with three buttons...

Daughter was surprised and happy to receive it.

Has nobody else been tempted to make one yet? Feel a bit lonely on my own.

Not tried this heart yet.
Yours looks lovely.

I made my trial unicorn into a cushion. I haven't photographed it yet.

I spent last evening taking the horrible itty bitty scraps of paper off the winged horse.

The Pegasus pattern, without the centre horsey bit, looks like an unfolding flower.

I tried printing the heart pattern out and it came out a titchy little 5 inch square. Tried the link to Pinterest (I hate Pinterest), didn't work, just lines of text appeared, so then I went onto the actual Pinterest site and looked for the pattern, which took ages. Finally found it and it was also a titchy little square. Enlarged it via my printer settings to 9 inches. Printed it and it came out 7 inches. Then I got fed up with it and haven't decided yet if it's worth the effort.

I can't remember exactly how I managed to print the template...

I tried to copy the one direct from Iminei's tutorial and that didn't work out, so I went to Pinterest, visited the site the heart came from and managed to print it from there. I was a bit of a rigmarole, but I managed somehow. My template came out at about 8 inch-ish square.

I just had a try.
First I saved the image. Then clicked print. It came out at 8"x8".
