Hello, can anyone help identify this machine so that I can find a manual. It's for an elderly friend.
I think the serial number is FC 401502 as one of the figures isn't clear it could be FC 4C or FC46.

Not sure, but it looks like a Stylist, close to 447, there's a 437, a 457,... I can't find one exactly like yours. Is there any numbers to go by on the machine? Have you had the bottom metal plate off the machine?

No numbers anywhere underneath, the bottom came off easily with two long bolts.
There are a couple of part numbers on the detachable parts, around the needle plate, but I guess these parts are interchangeable

Are there horizontal rods turning under there or a drive belt? It's not a touch and sew, which might be just as well.

I had some advice from Sandman collectibles who said the model number is just under the stitch level and if you zoom in, there it is! 449!
Any ideas on finding a manual?
