I am going to one of these roadshows for fabric to make a double size quilt. I thought this might be of interest to you.

They don't appear to come to the North West but I usually have a look at the FOQ, thanks for the link. Not that I need any more fabric.

Kendal is in the north west!
Most of the venues are village halls etc which a local group hires and invites Doughty's to attend. It's likely that none of the sewing/P&Q groups in Lancashire/Cheshire/Merseyside/Manchester feel the need to invite them because they are so spoiled by all the Abakan shops in their area. :fabric: :fabric: :fabric:

I went to one last year in a sleepy Hampshire village.
The place was heaving, the elbows were out, the queue for the cutting table went down the length of the hall and back up again ... it was a seriously cut throat experience!!!
If there is something particular you want from them at the roadshow, give them a call and request it and they will make sure its there for you!

Thern all you have to do is make sure no one else grabs it first!

I think I will do that Imi, I don't fancy my chances at an 'elbow-off'

I'm nowhere near any of the roadshow events (although I have in the past lived close to a surprising number of them!) However, I will almost certainly be going to Doughty's shop next Saturday. :D

No, DOB,
if you ask for 3 metres of the extra wide extra white wadding they will cut it and put it in a bag for you under the counter!
They are a really nice helpful lot!
