I think I have probably asked this question on TSF before, but I am looking for some nice plain cotton lawn to compliment some of the liberty I have.
I bought some of the cheap stuff off eBay here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAWN-COTTON-FABRIC-PLAIN-COLORS-India-Material-sewing-craft-Colour-/351229902518?var=&hash=item907311108f because the colour range looked good, but obviously at that price I would only use it for pockets, binding etc as it was a bit stiff and see through as a main colour.
Would anyone recommend a supplier that has good quality plain lawn at a good price?

Is anyone out there?
I see this request got no response - I came across it while searching myself for decent quality plain cotton lawn to go with my Japanese fabric for the sewalong.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

FabricLand (https://www.fabricland.co.uk/product/lawn-100-cotton-black/) ???
I recommend getting a sample.

I buy it from ebay, when I see a good price, and keep it in for linings, underlinings etc if the colours aren't brilliant [I'm looking at you, several miles of pink lawn]
No idea which seller though, but I've never bought any that was stiff

These have a decent choice of colours. Bit cheap so don't know how soft they would be.

Bit dearer

You could also try these. They have a range of lawn and voile which is very fine.

I love Liberty lawn myself. Worth the money methinks.

Several miles of pink lawn you say? What shade of pink? Are you selling?
-
Lol nope! It was a few years ago, dead cheap, good quality, only thing wrong was the colour, which is JUST tolerable as it's rose pink, the only shade I can stand.
I've been using it up for a while, I underlined all of the wife's wedding dress in it, and am down to the last couple of metres. eBay purchase records don't go back far nowadays, so I don't know which seller.
I last used some up on this Edwardian beauty:

That shade if pink suits you very well, DF.

It's well away from my face, and heavily diluted with grey and black. Tolerable! A lot of work went into that dress

I am trying to decide what to line a waterproof jacket with and am thinking lawn, but can't decide what sort. The outer is duck-egg blue so I was thinking going full chintz with some Liberty but it's a bit expensive. So possibly a non-Liberty "Liberty" print.

Kats fabrics are good for Liberty Tana Lawn http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Katsfabrics
They are Standfast and Barracks so the real deal
Thought I'd add that S&B make for Liberty's because some peep's wouldn't know

I love this site after being recommended it a few months ago, and now seem to have a growing collection of tana lawn sitting there uncut. Once I get some plain ones I should start using it up.

I ordered some pale blue cotton lawn from Showtime Fabrics yesterday. It was waiting for me when I got home from work today. Good quality but more of crisp feel than the silky tana lawn. I wanted it to line the bodice of a dress. The blue is a warmer shade than in the photo on the website but it'll do. They have other nice colours but I thought I would road test this before buying more.
