Sorry to read this, twopence. You weren't expecting miracles just a bit more understanding of the condition. Must be extremely frustrating.  Sending hugs. <3

If you keep it long enough it's vintage! I applaud those of you who have a good clearout. I must have another trawl through my collection and donate some to the local secondary school.

Well I've ordered my 3 issue trial which seems incredibly good value. Let's hope I don't get an email tomorrow asking for extra postage! Although you can successfully put the website through google translate, to get it to work properly I had to use the original Dutch site and had another window open with google translate so I could drop key words in and get an English translation. Fingers crossed I've done it correctly.

Yes I watched it last night. Paisley has never recovered from the loss of the thread industry. Indeed a lot of our industrial towns suffered badly when the UK textile industry collapsed.

Thanks so much, dolcevita. I shall now have to consider putting this in my winkelwagen!

The other good thing is that all the patterns go up to big sizes, Burda only do a few plus sizes.

If you wouldn't mind posting us to the webpage with the three issue trial offer, dolcevita...

I love some of the Dutch terms already - I see that winkelwagen is a shopping cart... but I prefer winkewagen!

There are some very nice patterns but would I be able to cope not knowing any Dutch? Or is sewing a universal language??  :D

Did anyone see the fascinating programme on Coats threads and threadmaking Paisley? It was on BBC4  earlier this evening. At one time Coats was the third largest company in the world. Of course, manufacturing moved overseas and no thread is made in the UK now. As with so many other textile towns, Paisley never recovered. Sad but also fascinating.

I've never thought of putting newspaper -tabloid or otherwise- on windows when decorating but I do close all the curtains at night. Never liked the idea of net curtains. You don't see them much these days.

I have plenty of other idiosyncracies though, but I'm not sure I'm going to let on what they are.  ;)

Fantastic, that you've met so many TSPers , Imi. We'll have to try to organise some meet ups round some of the other sewing shows.

The sun is shining here so we'll have a walk in the hills later and I have a Katherine Tilton top in Liberty lawn (courtesy of katsfabrics aka Standfast and Barracks) to finish.
