Justpottering entry number 2

What with darker evenings, log fires and Christmas coming I’ve been crocheting a snowflake garland. I made one a few years back and thought I’d make another. I string the old one around  some photos on the chimney breast wall.

Could I find the pattern? Could I ‘eck tried looking online for one, found one similar but instructions were a bit convoluted and they weren’t when I made it before.

Then I was looking for something else and yes you guessed it, I  found the pattern, well I say  ‘pattern’ but actually it was some hand scribbled note on a scrap of paper without a title in a random place! As I was wondering what it was I thought it  ‘sounded’ like the snowflake pattern so gave it a try and voila!

I used cotton last time I made it but the local yarn shop only had some that was too thick, and being too impatient to go further afield or order online I used white embroidery skeins, of which I have loads from my cross stitching days before the eyes got too old.

Here it is then   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

@Sheilago I have done quilting and reasonably successfully but I just don’t enjoy it at all, so I thought why do it when there are lots of things I prefer  :D

These are for the sofa in the sitting room I noticed the ones I used last year, which are umpty mumble years old were looking a little tired and promised I would make some new ones, I didn’t think I would have enough time but being under the weather meant that while I was ok to sew for self I really shouldn’t sew for others due to a brain fog. And voila :D

I enjoy EPP I usually take some on holiday with me  :) but that's done by hand of course, FPP I'm not so keen on but have done some

That's a lovely colour combination @SewRuthieSews

My machine came with an extension table, I’ve had a play with it but never actually used it when sewing anything, I only sew clothes and soft furnishings though.

My machine was mostly marketed as a quilting machine I chose it for the longer arm space which I did want, it’s very handy having more space to the right of the needle, for me anyway :)

I can't really search for the identity of the person who asked because I have no idea where it was posted, in fact it was just a comment in another post I am sure, might have been the Cafe or Today thread. They said they needed some, but not a lot, asked if anyone had some they didn't want rather than buy, I also think it was quite some time ago.

I remember thinking that I had some and probably won't use it so should dig it out from whatever dark corner it was hiding in, then life, the universe, and everything got in the way and I forgot all about it until I was sorting my threads the other day.

As for who might get them, one of our lovely members PM'd me straight after I had posted it, and as she was technically the first, (I did check there weren't any responses on the thread first) I said she could be first in line if the unidentified member did not claim them.

On another note, I have some sparkly threads to go as well, I will have to take a photo soon and put them here  :)

Quite some time ago someone asked for variegated threads, I cannot remember who although @Puzzler comes to mind for some reason  :[

They might not have even posted on this topic threads but if you could identify yourself I have some to give away (I’ve been sorting) I’ll give it a while for that to happen if not they’ll be free to first come first served

They are Gutermann, 100% cotton, and most not used at all some used a tiny amount various colours as you should be able to see from the picture
