House Beautiful / Re: Need some advice on making a curtain
« on: April 27, 2021, 18:38:36 PM »
The question has never been,"Should I use a curtain?"  At this point, DH & I have already agreed that a curtain is the best option for us.  We will use top & bottom tension rods & have ordered fabric. We found something we liked, yesterday.

The question on which I seek advice is how to sew a curtain. Advice on things like how big to make the side hems & such would be helpful.

That's us told then.

I'd say it depends on the size of your hole, do what you think looks right to you.

Bodgeitandscarper's entry.

Embroidered bags and blankets for SashaPoodle's breeder, for her recent litter's new owners.

The bags are made from a calico fabric, and the blankets are fleece, a light blue that doesn't show up too well in the pic.

I've hemmed the blankets using a fancy honeycomb stitch on my sewing machine, that took ages to stitch.  They measure about 1m x 80cm, and the bags are I think about 14" x 18" - yes, I'm happy to mix my measurement units  0_0

Current Projects / Re: Should the dog go?

Phew, not a real dog!

I'd leave it in if it's for a child, they will love it, and won't be bothered about colours looking "right".

In the wardrobe / Re: Advice from the experts

I think it was Asos that my daughter got her bridesmaid's dress when my son got married - aalthough it was a maternity one as she was 37 weeks.  I wonder if they may have something suitable?  Not that I'm suggesting you need maternity of course  :S

« on: April 18, 2021, 09:33:23 AM »
@Iminei You went wrong just after "cut along the fold" - you then said you "opened up".   DON'T open up, leave one on top of the other, just rotate one 180 degrees.

Patterns Discussion / Re: Sistermag patterns.

How nice to see someone doing something a bit different.  So many patterns all seem to be very boring these days.

I would have liked to see line drawings though, but maybe that's just me.

I'm thinking like @Renegade Sewist , I want to live that lifestyle with all those clothes.  I suspect it wouldn't work with two dogs though...

Sewing Machine World in Kings Lynn are very helpful - I see you are in Norwich, so maybe not too far away.
