What's on http://www.nationalcraftanddesign.org.uk/whatson/ (http://www.nationalcraftanddesign.org.uk/whatson/)
Worth keeping an eye on this one - several workshops eg. Pattern Cutting Trousers (http://www.nationalcraftanddesign.org.uk/whatson/#pattern-cutting-trousers) in the new year for £45 for all 4 weekly lessons on a Friday -
Also some of the workshops and exhibitions go on tour.
Fashion, Sewing, Textile art, Crafts Art, workshops, Seminars and Exhibitions.

Wow, never heard of this place before.
Nice to see not everything is down south, not too far from me, will have to plan a visit.

I see they have an event in Bath, which is not far from me, on 29th September. Not sewing related though. Will try and get to it but not sure if I can. Thank you Morgan.

There should be more places like this across the country. I've always found it frustrating that there is an assumption that leisure = sport and would love to have somewhere to go and try different crafts or have access to equipment that perhaps I can't afford. I suppose I was lucky in that there was greater availability when I was younger, than there is now, of local authority adult education and I tried pottery and silversmithing both of which I enjoyed immensely.

True Ss, but not too far!
As a Yorkshire lass, I think I'm on the north but to you I am a southerner.
What I should have said really was that its good to see something outside of London. 0_0
