Having absolutely nothing to do today, I wondered out to Shepherd's Bush on the bus and went through the market onto Goldhawk Road. I dropped into my favourite shop (Classic textiles) to have a chat with the owner as she is spearheading the campaign against Hammersmith Borough Council and the developers. The good news is that the traders have managed to get the compulsory purchase order overturned. The bad is that the council can go for another CPO in 2019.
On my way out of the shop, I spotted some beautiful 'Chanel' fabric and thought of Manuela and her resort wear projects.

I hope the campaign goes well. Classic Textiles was my favourite shop too. Unfortunately I don't live near enough to get there any more, but it's a resource that should remain in place for as long as possible. Far to few places left - especially in the South of England.

I <3 Classic Textiles! I'm glad they have fought off the CPO but they have had such a long fight.

Unfortunately, it's not over yet. Hammersmith will be back in 2019.
