Pom pom trim for fat quarter scarf

I want to make an infinity scarf using fat quarters and am looking for pompom trim.
Its the first time in purchasing, and I've obviously looked on-line but I wondered if anyone used in the past and can recommend the appropriate size (very difficult to judge on-line)?

@annieeg do you have a photo of one you like?  I've seen scarves with pompom trim from about ⅜ inch up to about 1¾ inches.  @indigotiger made a lovely pompom trimmed scarf a few years ago. I don't recall if that was the project she made her own pompoms for or another project.
