Listen to what
Imenie Iminei wrote but a little flexibility re Singers!
I have harped on about the " Singer Start" in a thread here.
I needed a quick cheap machine to fill the gap whilst on holiday.
This little thing did more than I expected.
I own one.
I have tested it to extremes.
It sews a good button hole, has zig zag and does a nice straight stitch.
I made a coat with it with some thick doubled over seams.
If you can go £60 on your budget for a brand new machine with warranty, for a 12 year old she will be delighted.
Yes I prefer the old vintage ones but you need to have experience to own and upkeep one of these.
This can come later on in her life when she has cut her teeth with sewing.
Only my take.
Pete
Ps..I have no financial interests with Singer.
My views on it are honest and what I think of it.
Good luck with your machine choice.
Sorry to edit your post @Sewot
I can take peeps spelling my name Iminie
but Imenie is a vowel too far
