Hello from Birmingham

Hi everyone, thanks for having me.

I'm new to machine sewing so hoping to learn from your experience while having a natter.

I've been crocheting for about 6 years (everyone I know already has a hand made scarf might be a better measure of time), and dabble in knitting and making dolls house scale furniture/scenery for dungeons and dragons games.. but have recently been bitten by the quilting bug. I've just about managed to figure out how to attach the walking foot to produce a couple of quilted coasters but I have a long way to go.  :|

Looking forward to getting to know you :)

Hello @bec and welcome to the forum.

I learnt to knit after a fashion a while back, but never continued.  I had the idea of reviving my interest, but my old brain can't cope with the intricacy any more.  :(  I would love to see some of the furniture you make.

I have made a few pilgrimages from London to Brum and went to the Rag market, Barry's, Fancy Silks as well as all the outdoor stalls.  When I get back into sewing, another visit may be on the cards.

Hi @bec and welcome.  You are not too late to join in our block of the month.  We only started in February and there’s a new block on Monday.

I can knit and for years, I tried to learn to crochet.  Never happened.

I look forward to seeing your coasters so don’t forget to post pics.

Hi Bec
Welcome to a really nice, friendly forum.
If you're getting into quilting maybe join in with the next mug rug swap - lot of fun.

Welcome to the forum.  :)

It's a pity the Festival of Quilts has been cancelled this year. We usually have a little TSP gang meet up. It might be something you'd be interested in and it's not too far for you.

Sandra.
