I get a kick out of clothes and samples I have made and donated locally showing up in shops with my label. Some are not where I expect.
Best story on that: I made a coat. Nothing particularly special on it, basic as they come, but I used it to learn a few techniques with fabric I didn't like. I wound up donating it to a local charity that helps a lot out in my community, and I know how much they sold it for ($65). I added the labels and all, and a hang tag since it was new (and they could get more for it in store).
Shows up in a boutique. Still has my labels and hang tags. Price is now $125. I pick it up to look at it, because I made it, you know? Gal at the store tells me all about this clothing company, and how they are this really exclusive label out of Nashville (I'm not) and all sorts of dribble. None of which is true. So she tries to sell me my own coat I don't even like back. All I can do is laugh, open my jacket with the same label in it (because I made them both) and was like "Oh I know! They're such a great company!"
