Now as we know, Junes block(s) are Late, Late, Late

This is not because they werent done but because of a technical issue...

June deals with HST's and QST's the foundation blocks of all starry quiltiness ...

The received wisdom is that to make an HST you need to cut your square 7/8ths of an inch bigger than the size you want and with QST's the measurement is 1 1/4" bigger ....

Well I dont know but I seem to have bucked the curve and attained Godlike status as I can make an HST cutting only 1/2" bigger than the size I want to achieve and as for QST's I cut 1" larger!

This has had me stumped for 3 days now (admittedly on the 2nd day I had a mammoth hangover and could barely remember my name ) but this morning I got up and remade HSTs and QSts and indeed MY measurements work ... for me.

I would strongly advise you to try on some gash fabric first to get the right cut sizes fir your HST's and QST's

But here is the TUT (and resultant block) I made this morning....

Right read through instructions. At least there is no fiddling with different fabrics just lots of points!

If the weather doesn't cheer up I'll have a go later.

Yay, Stars, I love stars - as you have probably noticed from my latest quilty effort. Will be heading over to start on this next week. Cant leave it as late as the last one...by the time I made it into the HOF, I found that there were absolutely no biscuits or cake left, the tea was stone cold and the milk was gone. I also had no luck finding @Acorn's hidden garibaldis...Serves me right for arriving on the last day of the month!!!
If you see me with a seam ripper, now is not a good time

Looks like quite a tour-de-force by our BOM tutor  4 days into June isn't bad going for all that lot, I reckon.

Definitely worth waiting for.  I’ve been thinking of this block since @Deafoldbat shared her blocks on her lemonade thread.

Very nice @Bjay .
I've come to the conclusion that I probably won't be making any more of these boms.
My fault entirely, but I just can't seem to be able to choose coordinating fabrics when I don't know what the finished article will look like :|
I'm not a person with "vision" ( I don't mean I can't see....I'm not Dominic Cummings ). I mean I need written instructions to follow, without deviation, in steps, like a recipe.I also need to know what the completed quilt will look like........something specific to aim for :D
So, sorry if I'm letting the side down or not pulling my weight but it's been worrying me so that I haven't been able to sew at all for weeks ( must get missing blocks done before I can start anything else syndrome )
To the Newbie Darksiders.....I'm not normally a wimp ,I'm usually a stalwart but ....there we go.
Sorry again
Triumph of hope over experience :D

As the online casinos say, when it stops being fun, you should stop doing it!  And unlike the casinos, we actually mean it!

@Bjay  you're fast!  I haven't even figured out where I've put the fabrics... I love the way your green background works, with the swirls.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Because I have decided to make a new project and continue with this - I am learning a lot - I thought fabric is in the corner , cold outside - I'll have a go.

I have to say all that bother I had with the geese  certainly helped me with the points on this one.
Found it easy to follow

Thanks @Iminei

I know how you feel @Lowena . My efforts won't coordinate either as I am just having to use what I've got at the moment, and the backing may well be a mish mash as well. It is taking much longer than usual to send for fabric even from Doughty's, who are usually very quick off the mark, and Royal Mail is apparently a couple of weeks behind with deliveries as well. Kate closed her shop at Christmas and I bought a lot of fabric then, but it's tricky to make colour decisions when you have no idea what you are going to need in the future. I'm carrying on though, the ladies in the charity shop will love it regardless of lack of coordination.  :\

Am I right in thinking @Iminei , that there are 3 blocks in this BOM and possibly 4 if we design our own block? Will need to get going, if that’s the case!

This one went well.  :)

However... :S

Y'know when you're multi-tasking...and you lose concentration?
I was doing the dinner and wandering between the kitchen, the sewing machine and checking the instructions on my laptop which is in another room.
Had my dinner, then returned to finish off the last of the block and that's when it all went a bit... different.
