A sort-of patchwork make
« on: June 03, 2020, 17:01:11 PM »
I wanted another apron for the kitchen but I didn't want to use any of my fabric pieces as they're a bit too good really, I'm saving them for garments.

Looking around my stash, I dug deep and found a few pairs of denim jeans from my OH and my friend's DH - she gave them I didn't steal them  :P

I tried chopping them up and stitching large pieces together but it just wasn't working so I came up with the idea of patchworking and stitching them onto a backing piece of left-over moths and butterflies print. I used two back pockets instead of the standard apron pocket and used a few Aldi FQ's for the binding.

What do you think? Although, maybe I don't want to know.....

0_0 That's a fab idea and you look great.
I look such a frumpy old dear in my apron  :S I'm a bit embarrassed for even my kids to see me in mine.

Sandra.

Great bit of kit - and beautifully modelled @snoozi soozi  0_0

I'm such a mucky pup I use aprons often. I've been thinking about making a new one - my original was made in the mid-seventies - and wondered about piecing one from leftovers.
Dogs are such a help when dressmaking!

It looks great. You didn’t opt for the simplest way to patchwork an apron, but it’s lovely and no doubt will be quite practical. Love the pockets!
Similar cooker to mine too, but mine is dark red.

That's great 0_0 and I love the way you've used the jeans pockets.

I can't cook anything, especially  :cake: without wearing an apron, I'd have flour all over everything else and nowhere to wipe sticky fingers, but I never use the pockets.
