@Kwaaked thank you for your explanation.
My spool is actually sat on a wooden pin so cannot roll or wobble over.
The small eye now on the machine spool pin is small enough so that if I have to use stack wound thread the spool will still sit over the top of the spool pin thereby eliminating searching for a safety pin.
Most of my thread reels are cross wound.
I think I have sussed the thread distribution system now so happy with that.

@Sewot I enjoy looking at everything in the background of personal sewing space. If I  didn't already know you do precision woodworking I would know from the photo. So, I need to point out that your little miter box saw should be on the magnetic strip with the blade edge down. Looking at the blade next to the scissors is giving me the willie's.  :scream:
