Like a lot of computerised things sometimes all you have to do is turn it off, count to ten and turn it back on again.

That's Windows!  0_0

Thanks everyone for taking the time to help. I’ve been using mostly straight stitch and zigzag and Susan (yes I name everything!!) appears to have been quite happy.  Until I decided to get a little adventurous and try a stretch stitch

Thanks everyone for your help.  My New Home has gone to a local repair man for a little TLC and my ever patient, and now definitely the best husband ever :loveit:, bought me the new Janome 5270QDC.  Think he’s slowly realising he’s not the only love in my life now

Enjoy your new machine.  Always good to have a spare anyway......or a few spare ;)

So my OH collected my New Home from the sewing doctor who has given it a clean bill of health and a 6 month warranty for £55.  Very impressed

OH thinks it’s going on eBay to help pay towards it’s replacement.  Now time to come up with reasons why that’s not a good idea!

You need a spare, what will you do when your other machine goes for a service?

Sooo happy today!  Hubby agreed that I could put my New Home machine which is now working well since it's service, back into my wardrobe and I don't have to sell it

So what have you named the new machine? (We name everything here too. Our Hoover vacuum cleaner, for instance, is named Herbert.)
You can't scare me. I taught high school for 32 years.

OMG we must be kindred spirits as I thought I was the only one that named inanimate objects.  My electric wheelchair is called Buddy and my manual one is Wally.  The OH has a hard time to keep up sometimes.  I could go on ....

My original New Home was called Susan and my new Janome is called Jessie.  I'd love to hear what other people call their sewing machines x
