Has anyone made this pattern before? Fell in love, but I'm short so it may not work

Nope!  I like it with the overskirt but I find I'm always fiddling with any skirt that has crossover/slits in.

If you make it in white make sure it's got a decent lining!   :scream:

My experience with Vogue patterns generally are that they come up big compared to the other big4 - and they are overpriced.  :'(

I like always choose patterns for the bottom half by the hip size.  So much easier to alter the waist area.  I don’t think the simple skirt would be too difficult to adjust for height.  But not sure about the other one.  I’d like to see the pattern pieces.

@Syrinx: I like the drama of the skirt, but nobody wants to see my lumpy thigh and fat knee.   I sewed mostly Vogue and the sizing suited me fine.  However, if you are short, it may ruin the proportion of the skirt if too much is cut off.

Cool skirt to look at, but I'd hate to have to sit in it. I had a skirt one time with a front wrap and it was a pain to sit in- kept falling open and revealing far more leg than it did when I was standing.
It's just fabric. We can out-think it.

I feel the same about wrap dresses.  Apart from getting adequate coverage across my 32F bust, I don't want anything to be on display when I sit down.

Well it is certainly dramatic. Yes, Vogue patterns are very expensive in the UK now and we haven't had a half price pattern sale since before lockdown.  :'(

I now only buy patterns on sale.  The last Vogue sale pattern I bought cost £7.50, but that was back when the top of the line patterns were £15.00

My local fabric shop has been closed since March.  It is supposedly undergoing modification to enable physical distancing - good luck with that in such a small space - but there is no sign of a reopening date.

I can probably count the number of patterns I've bought full price over the last thirty years on the fingers of one hand and have a finger left over for expressing my thoughts re: the full price of modern patterns. Even with all the patterns I've culled out over the years, I can probably find most silhouettes I favor in my stash. Thank goodness.
