Good quality black cotton fabric??

Please can anyone recommend some decent quality black cotton fabric?  It's so difficult when you can't feel it in the flesh, so to speak. 

It's for face masks, so only need one of them fat quarter thingies, or even half a yard metre.

NB I'm a cheap skate, so would prefer it to be a sensible price

@Bodgeitandscarper Does it have to be plain black or would slightly patterned (grey on black) be OK? If patterned would be OK I have various black quilting cottons that I would be happy to send you a FQ or two for the cost of postage.

Aw, thanks for the offer, @StitchinTime , but it is plain black I'm after.  I have a plan to embroider the outer layer with black or very dark grey skulls

I’ve been using Art Gallery Fabrics quilting cottons for masks as they have a finer/tighter weave than most quilting cottons. Their plain/solid range is called Pure Elements and is available in FQs from various places. However, postage may be as much as one FQ so you might just have to add a few other things to make it worth your while
