Pin tucks

OK so here's another one!  I have a length of white double gauze crinkly ( a bit) cotton. Spurred on by Manuela I have dug out my Bella dress pattern and am thinking the following: No sleeves. Put a centre front seam and  top stitch it and then either side of that add in about 5 pin tucks  - end shape and width to be decided before I cut out the pieces.  Now the quandary - pin tucks and crinkly cotton - bad idea ?  or have you all done it and loved it? I'll do a sample first but I'd like your inputs  before I do.

Methinks crinkly fabric and pin tucks = asking for a lot of frustration...
Try is on a smallish piece of fabric and see how it behaves.

I once tried it. Have up. The crinkles meant that the tucks looked uneven even.

Hmm. I had considered frustration but you brought me up sharp with the "uneven" GG. And  @Syrinx I was planning to use a sewing machine, but I'm all for novelty!  Will think of another way to add interest. Lovely as it is I don't want to end up looking like a milk maid or flower power escapee - so no tiers or frills.

Try a sample first. Then go have a stiff drink. Make a new plan.

Or save time and start with the drink.  :toast:
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

So I've taken a few shortcuts and cut straight to the drink. I'm thinking now  :gin:

I like your thinking @Catllar
Not tried it on this sort of fabric but I think it could be a PITA.  Samples definitely!

Pin tucks don't work on crinkles but I've had a play with the pattern and added some 3cm wide stitched box pleats to the the bodice, and I've taken a pair of scissors to the thing and made some new diagonal seam lines  to add some interest - going OK so far, thank goodness for muslin fabric - had brain freeze about how to get the pleats where I wanted them. Then my iron exploded!
