Sorry about the very bad attempt at a catalogue pose... I really like how this one turned out. I would have liked to try pattern matching the placket but couldn't due to a limit on the fabric.

That's great @EdTheMaker   You have pattern matched on the fronts and on the sleeves which is more important than the placket.  On a ladies' shirt a contrast for the placket would be acceptable, but I'm not sure about on a man.
Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

Lovely job. I think it would be fine to have a contrast placket if you wanted to.

Lovely job.  I agree with @Lachica that a contrast would work if you’re short on fabric again.

Another great shirt and great fabric - you're flying now aren't you.
Actually, because you've pattern matched the fronts so well and because the motif on the button band falls half way between the motifs on the fronts it really doesn't shout out at all.

I would love to tackle a shirt but I keep chickening out at the thought of all that faddling at the collar. I don't even know what the faddling is...but I know it's there!  :S
