Greetings from Manchester
« on: August 25, 2020, 15:03:30 PM »
Hello all!

I joined in December last year but I've only just got around to posting.

I've been sewing for such a long time that I don't actually remember learning! My primary focus is clothing, mainly for me, but I have been known to dip into soft furnishing and accessories when it's called for.

I've had a blog since the dark ages but only in the last year have I started posting on it regularly again.

I also knit, crochet (badly), spin, and cross stitch. I'm also hoping to learn bobbin lace and I'll turn my hand to carpentry and DIY.

I don't know any other sewers locally and BCE (Before Covid Era) I was hoping to try and meet some people. Such is life!

Hello and welcome.
Is Leon's still around in Chorlton? and I know you have Abakhan fabrics, lucky you.

Welcome to TSP.  :flower:

Oooooh, carpentry. You could build your own sewing tables and storage units. I say tables plural because if you don't have more than one machine now, you will by the time TSPs have enabled you. We'll give you some time to settle in though.

Watch out for the Darksiders though. :ninja: You'll be adding patchwork, quilting and appliqué to that list of yours.

I do have all the necessaries for a quilt, I've even bought a dual feed foot! Sadly, I'm always distracted by the "quicker" makes of clothing.

Here's my most recent sewing FO.

I'm not sure about Leon's in Chorlton, the name does ring a bell though. And Abakhans has been my downfall many a time!

"Only" underwear, but swimwear is on the "someday" list. I never thought I'd make my own undies, so why not a tankini?!
