Lilian's Entry

What is it and for whom – Dress for me

Pattern used  - Prima exclusive July 2020 - View A size 14

What fabrics you used  - A woven fabric, not sure what it is but it's quite fine, cotton/viscose feel.  It was free at my sewing group, a lady brought loads of fabric to give away.  There was just enough to cut this dress and a matching face mask.

A short description on how you made it/problems overcome/etc. - As per pattern, a straightforward make with some small adjustments to shoulder as I have square shoulders.  Adjustments for a bit more shape. All edges overlocked as the fabric frays and creases easily.

The plastic on mu dressform shows through fine fabric :(

Now that is very smart.  :loveit: Lovely @Lilian.
If only I'd known you could do matching like that you could have put the pointy bits on my boat!

I'm working away at my tartan coat but may well not make the deadline. Some lovely stuff turning up on this thread now. So I have to make a matching tartan tweed facemask??!?

My sewing attic is too cold to sew @wrenkins . We got a new electric fuse box thingy and the attic heater trips it when I have it on at more than tepid. That's my excuse.......  ;)

In that case you must move onto the dining table immediately!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Sorry I'm not going to get this finished as a family member (some miles away) is a bit unwell and I decided to have a bit ofa worry on instead - as you do at the moment.
I promise faithfully I'll get it finished and post in the diary area in a couple of days.

You do what you have to do @Tamnymore and never mind about us raving on here. Family trumps everything.

Starryfish's Entry
Burda 6291 skirt with front pleats. Maroon wool with black check.
I made view B, the slightly shorter version, but omitted the self fabric belt. The wool is too thick, and it would have added too much bulk at the waist.

As usual it is fairly dark in the only place in the house I can take photos. The skirt is part of the 6PAC I will be entering in the competition. It is a nice winter weight in our not that warm house (It would be if DH would turn the heating on for longer).
A day without sewing is a day wasted.
