I made a slouchy handbag. The fronts (see second photo) and back are made from the black linen beaded tunic and the piping and strap from the M&S top. Lining is from stash.

It is this shape because it is made of the  pieces that were left after I had cut a short sleeve for my top out of the long sleeve of the tunic.

The front uses the V neck of the tunic, made into a pocket, which is big enough to hold a baby elephant:

Or more sensibly a mask and hand sanitizer.  I have put a zipped pocket inside for credit cards, a pocket for a phone and a loop with a thingie to clip keys to. The bag itself has a magnetic clasp.

@Goth Gardiner I think I like it. Could you be a love and get another photo from a little farther away?  I can see nice detail in these photos but not the overall bag. I'll be needing that to fully appreciate your clever work here. Thanks!

PS: love the elephant.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

I have to disagree... if you have a pocket suitable for a baby elephant, you should always put a baby elephant in it.  Masks and sanitiser can go somewhere else.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Hi Guys. Im not sure If I will be able to complete my project on time.

My skin has gone into overdrive (Erythrodermic psoriasis if you're at all interested) and the only thing that can be done before I start my new meds is creaming myself up to within an inch of my life to alleviate the symptoms and as we know cream and oils do not mix with fabric!!!!!

I went to the Hop this morning after securing an emergency appt with my consultant and walked out looking like the Mummy! This is not going to be pleasant ...
Hell it hasnt been pleasant over the last few weeks but hopefully Im having my new prescription delivered next Monday and then a nice nurse will come in the next week or so  and show me how to administer it (like I don t know how to shoot a hypodermic into myself   )

So I may not be able to finish this quilt (had you guessed what it was yet??_) in time ... Sorry!

@Iminei - your health and getting your skin to behave a little more is far more important. I've no idea how you manage to live with your condition, so I do hope your new medication helps. I'm sure it can't come soon enough for you.

So sick of sitting and watching the Reality S*** and Recycled Repeats on TV I resolved to try and get back on the roundabout and have stitch basted The Recycle/fashion/purpose entry.

I have no idea how it got so big but certainly knew about it when wrestling it through The Splurgess's harp ..
Its come out at 13 x 11  squares of 6" (God knows why) so whats that?
78 x 66" ???

Quilting is going to be uber simple ... crosshatches through most of the squares apart from the ones with pockets and some labels and buttons added.

I had vaguely been thinking of  adding a 1/2 Sq to each of the long sides to give just a lil more overhang but wonder if that might be 6" too far ?

What do you think???

I like it. The pockets are wonderful.  What are you using for binding?

Some dark purple fabric (from Stash naturally) ...

Yes, Yes I know I really should cut lots of lil strips from the remnants of the shirts but I dont know if I have the time or would have the will to live if i do so!!!!  AND its does need to be DARK!
