A little test stitching

A little test stitching

Since I’m waiting for some fabric to finish my next project, I decided to do some test stitching, while I have the time.
I tested out 2 new threads- one variegated and one purple/white twist. Then, I hooped a quilt sandwich (to get the feel for hooping all the layers) and did a stippling design.

Lovely!  I do like variegated thread, although I find it breaks more often than standard embroidery thread.  Did you find that?
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Can I ask what might be a silly question to you @Sara-S , when you do those swirls, they are so even and correct, are they totally free hand or does the machine work it all out for you.

That is a design done by my embroidery machine, so not freehand.

Not that I have noticed. Though some don’t want to work with the machine’s threader.
