Singer 222k Find

DH spotted this on a recent visit to an Architectural Salvage and Antiques centre which was located off the beaten track and this was really the only decent item there. It was manufactured in November 1957.  The machine is mainly dusty/cobwebby and the lubricant is pretty well gunked up  It does run and DH will make sure it is electrically safe.  It's currently being dismantled for cleaning and lubricating.  It has the red accessory case with various feet, including the embroidery/darning hoop. Also the machine storage case.  I paid £40 for everything.

Brilliant! Not sure if you know these folks (you probably do) but putting it here for others too - their tutorials are really helpful, and free  :)

Yes, a very lucky find.  We were just in the right place at the right time.  I do feel as though I have too many machines now and perhaps I should sell my 221k.  DH thinks I should keep them all  :loveit:
Thank you for the link @LeilaMay I've had a quick look through and have bookmarked it

What a lovely find @coffeeandcake , they really are super machines.

I've used mine quite a lot recently to make masks - it made the job very easy, and I forgot how quiet it is.

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.
