The other day I shortened the length of this by 6-7ins. Looks a bit more in proportion now

Then today I began to attach borders  and  :headbang:

Applied narrow white one to 2 long sides and then applied a red border to white one. I just forgot to put anything on the narrow sides .Means I'll be the unpicking queen again adding a white border to the top and bottom and then the red one. I do know I don't need to unpick all just small lengths but what a plonka

Tomorrow is another day - should have gardened instead!

Managed to correct my  error - phew

Tomorrow, as long as my knees and back hold up I will get the sandwich made.

I have another learning curve with the quilting as i want to ensure equidistant straight lines so I'm going to attempt to use the space bar that comes with a walking foot

Interesting fact that may only apply to Husqvarna Vikings... if you put the spacer thingy on the wrong side of your walking foot your machine will tell you its motor is overloaded even though it hasn't done anything.  That's because it will be upside down and will stop the machine from being able to lower the needle.

I don't really need to tell you how I know that, do I?

(It is actually pretty obvious whether it's right or wrong as long as you know there's a difference.)
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Wow!!! @Bjay .  What progress since I've been incommunicado. That border really sets it off.

When I have a usable sewing space, I need to come up with a design to appliqué in the centre of my birdie quilt with the piano key edges. I know who to turn to for appliquéing hints

Just the binding to go  and a few loose ends to be tied up.

Gardening can be so time consuming!

I didn't reach my target. I've learnt a lesson though - fussy binding is difficult to work out especially when you want all the faces the same way up!
Got to what I thought was sewing stage when I thought I had better check in the 'bible' - not done enough bindings in my quilting life to know 'where to go'
Yep not quite right, so unpinned , pressed binding, rolled it round a tube and made a cup of tea having put stuff away.

Tomorrow is another day!  :)
