I started with a Brother 4234D being wary of spending much more in case I just didn't get on with overlocking in my 60s. Before the year was out I'd upgraded to the Juki MO-1000, an air threader with superb build quality which didn't wake up my husband at night and sewed good width seams. The Brother, which I kept as a backup but never use willingly now, feels rather toy-like after the Juki. Apologies for any dismissiveness to others who love theirs. :S

6 years later I still have it, we've gone through many a mile of lycra and dance fabric together and am simply not interested in upgrading further although the lure of the new Bernina with needle up-down and knee lift on top of the air threading is a huge temptation. I'd be happier if it were made by Juki rather than Jaguar though.  -<
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.
