My Waldo is now stylishly stressed for Robert Burns Day in his plaid beret. (My husband is proud of his Scottish heritage) The pattern was simple, though I modified it a bit and would make one more change, if I do another. The pattern is simple; cut a 5” circle of felt. Cut a second 5” with a 3” hole in it. Sew together and then turn right side out. I added the plaid circle on top of the felt. Before turning it, I cut lots of little notches in the seam allowance, to reduce the bulk. I also sewed little chin straps in; that may or may not be needed, depending on the type of doll.

If I were to do another one, I would only cut a 2” circle out of the bottom piece, to give in greater width.

Here is my wee Bonnie hippo;

I think, in Scotland, that stylish headgear would be called a bonnet ( might be a regional thing, DH is from Perthshire)
Life's too short for ironing.
